SUT-H 6.3x32 mm ceramic fuse sustains high inrush currents

SCHURTER introduces a new 6.3x32 mm ceramic fuse with a rated current range from 10 A to 50 A. The SUT-H is particularly suited for applications with high inrush currents.
In contrast to SCHURTER’s standard SUT, the SUT-H has a much higher melting integral, which makes it extremely pulse resistant to high inrush currents, as in providing absorption of such occurrences in power supply units. The fuse series also has a high breaking capacity up to 500 A @ 250 VAC, 10 kA @ 125 VAC.
The SUT-H is offered with axial leads for direct mounting on the PCB or without leads for insertion into SCHURTER’s solid beryllium-copper fuse clips, series CQP. The clips are rated for use up to 30 A, which is substantially higher than conventional tin-plated clips, which are often limited to a maximum operating current of 10 A.
The new 6.3x32 mm SUT-H ceramic fuse opens up completely new areas of application, due to the extended rated current range up to 50 A. It also provides for more compact innovative application designs. The fuse series meets the requirements of the UL 248-14 standard. It is cURus approved and RoHS compliant.

Compact, High Performance 3-Phase Block Filter

SCHURTER launches its single-stage three-phase filter family, FMAC NEO. Especially compact with high performance, the new filter series is ideally suited for use in today's more portable industrial machines, designed to occupy less floor space in manufacturing plants. A wide temperature range extends its capabilities for use in many critical applications.
Three-phase control cabinets, in particular, can have space constraints. SCHURTER addresses this problem with a completely new filter design, which is much more compact than older generations. The new, almost cubed design makes optimum use of available space in the cabinet housing. Designed with the highest quality components, the filter maintains a very high attenuation relative to its more compact dimensions.
The new filter family is also suitable for use in devices subjected to high EMC loads such as energy converters or motor drives. Typical applications include converters for photovoltaics, battery storage or charging stations for electric vehicles. These new high-performance type filters are also the better choice for modern day frequency inverters used for motor control.
The FMAC NEO filter series has screw terminals for safe and reliable wire terminations. A full metal flange guarantees a good earth ground connection upon screw mounting to the chassis. The standard versions can be used over a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 100 °C. The filters are designed for currents from 16 A to
230 A at an ambient temperature of 50 °C. They are ENEC and cURus approved and recommended for applications up to 520 VAC. The standard versions are designed for industrial applications with leakage currents <13 mA. Special versions for leakage-critical applications of <3 mA is also available.
The completely redesigned models of the FMAC NEO family are the ideal replacement for all types of SCHURTER legacy FMAC filters. The FMAC NEO offers the same high performance with significantly smaller dimensions and weight.

IEC Appliance Outlet with up to Four Light Pipes

SCHURTER launches its new series 4710-5 as the next logical evolution of outlets used for the design of PDUs and UPSs. The new IEC outlet series, Type J, rated 16 A at 250 VAC and 20 A according to UL, are equipped with IDC terminals for automating bussed connections of multiple outlets in series, while also providing options for specifying up to four light pipes.
The new 4710-5 series provides a space and cost saving approach to status indication, which is often used to signal the equipment technician regarding system status of one kind or another, as for instance power surges and sags. Precisely fitted light guides
provide support for light pipes in one or all corners of the outlet. The operation of each of the LEDs, mounted    on the PCB, is channeled to the enclosure surface to indicate status. The light pipes are ordered as an accessory to be inserted after the outlets have been mounted and wired. Outlets are also offered in colors black, white and grey for multiphase distinction.
The use of IDC terminals is particularly efficient, allowing several outlets to be wired quickly and reliably in a single process step. The phase contact (L) is a PCB terminal for connection of maximum power to each outlet. Quick connect or solder terminals are available on request. IDC terminal configuration supports wiring "along" or "cross" to the outlet pin axis. Selection depends on the design of the PDU and the arrangement of the outlets, vertically (along) or horizontally (cross) one behind the other, orienting the wires to the direction of the strip. IDC terminals accept solid insulated wires, sizes 14-10 AWG.
The new outlet series offers the V-Lock cord retention system. Snap in mounting is designed for panel thicknesses of 1.0 to 3.0 mm, 1.5 and 2.0 mm is standard.

CDS1 Configurable Display Switch with OLED Display

SCHURTER introduces its new generation of human-machine interfaces with the CDS1, a switch sized input system using capacitive touch technology. The intuitive operation with the touch of a finger, swipe or rotation on the touchscreen conveniently resembles that of a smartphone, delighting users with visual and sophisticated taste.

Plug-and-Play can't be easier. Unpack, connect and immediately begin using the machine simulator (Windows) provided. Fully configurable, the user decides on the imagery to be used for selection. The selection is then activated with just a swipe of the bright round OLED display. Tap the home LED to return to the home screen. Change up the image or add features like subtle fade-in and fade-out. The same flexibility applies to the glass screen, e.g. any symbols on the softkeys are possible. All images, graphics and animations can be loaded to its 4 MB internal mass storage via Micro USB 2.0 interface. Standard machine control communication interfaces I2C, SPI or RS232 are available.

IEC Applicance Outlet with Integrated Status Indication for Smart PDU applications.

Today, PDUs often use LEDs mounted in between outlets to display a current status. This is not the most efficient approach in packing density, thus precious real-estate can be saved by using outlets with integrated light pipes. The control of the LEDs is freely configurable, wherein each state can be clearly and independently represented. An outlet could, for example, signal an outage with a red LED, or a critical power consumption pattern with a yellow LED.

SCHURTER introduces its new IEC appliance outlet, series 4797-5, with integrated light pipes. The new outlet compliments SCHURTER's classic J outlet with solder or quick-connect terminals. It also broadens SCHURTER's existing range of F outlets with light pipes.

Description

The F outlet is rated 10/15 Amp at 250 VAC according to IEC/UL and the newly added J outlet is rated 16/20 Amp at 250 VAC. The outlets provide a space and cost-saving solution for intelligent PDUs used in data centers and other multi-distributed power applications.

The 4797-5 is compatible with V-Lock or S-Lock cord sets for a cord retaining option with either vertical or horizontal mounted outlets. It features snap-in panel mounting for a panel thickness of 1.5 mm. Variations from 1.0 to 3.0 mm are also possible. Grey and white outlets are also available to differentiate between blocks or banks of outlets. The 4797-5 can be equipped with up to four light pipes.

Metal Line Switch Integrates Illumination in Smaller Diameter Pushbutton

SCHURTER expands its Metal Line switch series to include an illuminated 16 mm version. The compact mechanical pushbutton switch provides a sleek look accentuated with a quality homogeneous illumination in a ring style, or complete surface area illumination. Illumination color options include red, blue, green, yellow and white. The standard supply voltage is 24 VDC.

Description

The new 16 mm MSM features a housing made of stainless steel with a mechanical actuator for tactile feedback. Actuation force is 4.5 N with 1 mm travel. The robust anti-vandal design, with IP67 seal protection and IK07 impact resistance ratings, makes it especially suited for use in harsh environments. Operating temperature range is -25° C to +85°C.

Additionally, the new 16 mm MSM includes signal switches designed for voltages of up to 30 VDC at 100 mA. The power switches are rated up to 250 VAC at 10 A, making the switches particularly versatile when it comes to panel designs combining both power and signal switches. Switching function is momentary N.O, N.C, N.O. / N.C.

Applications for these versatile 16 mm momentary pushbutton switches include: indoor and outdoor applications, industrial, white goods, vendor and ticket machines, commercial kitchen equipment, food industry, lab equipment, audio equipment and elevator control panels to give examples.

ClearCap - the transparent capacitive switch technology from SCHURTER

The new SCHURTER ClearCap technology offers transparent capacitive sensor fields for easy integration behind glass, polycarbonate or polyester. This single-layer, customizable sensor film includes pre-definable touch fields in the active display area. In addition normal capacitive function keys are possible.

For small diagonals displays or larger displays with simple menu structures, ClearCap technology is the cost-effective capacitive solution. Keys, sliders and wheels are easy to integrate and provide a flexible functionality in an attractive modern design with effective costing. The transparency allows to backlight the area of the operating elements with LEDs in multiple colors.

Waterproof push/pull appliance coupler with protection degree IP 67 and IP 69K

SCHURTER presents the new waterproof IEC connector consisting of the appliance inlet type 4761 and the rewireable cord connector type 4762. With its high protection class IP 67 or IP 69K connected or unconnected with cover, this appliance coupler is perfect for supplying power to appliances used in harsh environments such as industrial, marine, laboratories or any type of outdoor appliances.

The Push/Pull locking system provides a strong reliable connection, yet at the same time ensures a break-away cable in the event of overdue stress. The blue shape and color of the pull-out mechanism indicates the pull-out direction. A clear catch sound is heard upon the seated connection. The connector style is similar to the international standards of IEC and UL/CSA 60320, but is distinguished by a special arrangement of the contacts, so as not to interchange with conventional power cords. This ensures the maximum power applied, IP protection and the cord retention. The connector can be temporarily submerged in water and can be cleaned with high-pressure hot water cleaners. Both components are very easy to terminate. The inlet 4761 is available with solder or quick connect terminals. The connector is equipped with conventional screw terminals, as commonly seen in rewireable connector designs. Thus, no special tools for wire assembly are necessary.

The appliance couplers are available in black and white. The dual components, appliance inlet and cord connector, can be ordered as complete sets, which simplifies the ordering processes and customer logistics. The inlet and connector are also available as individual components for separate inventorying. Accessory covers are available for both plug parts, providing a waterproof protection IP 67 in plugged state and IP 69K in an unplugged state. These protective covers also offer protection against pollutants, which can potentially contaminate the contacts.

The waterproof appliance coupler set is VDE and UL/CSA approved. The rated current is according to IEC 10 A @ 250 VAC, according to UL/CSA 15 A @ 250 VAC. The maximum operating temperature is +120 °C. Quick connect terminal options for the inlet are 4.8 x 0.8 mm, 6.3 x 0.8 mm or solder. The cord connector can be assembled with cables from 6.0 - 10.0 mm, maximum wire size acc. to IEC 1.0 mm2, according to UL/CSA 14AWG (2.08 mm2).

The approvals of these connectors according to IEC/UL 60320 simplify the process for the equipment manufacturer to obtain approval of their appliances, because many equipment standards with respect to the power supply refers to these component standard

MoC - Metal over Cap

SCHURTER's new Metal over Cap (MoC) is the ideal solution for durable and robust switches and keypads without mechanical moving parts. This capacitive MoC technology is a good alternative to the piezo switches.

This robust switching panel is designed for use in harsh environments and can be equipped with front plates of stainless steel or aluminum. The customer-specific graphical printing of the surface design is made by screen printing with an additional protective coating. The sensor electronics with common communication interfaces is mounted on a rigid PCB from the rear. The MoC technology is robust against vibrations and permits use in an extended temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.

The MoC technology of SCHURTER can be used in building and security technology, transportation and construction machinery.
